Hi there, and welcome to my corner of the internet! You’ve clicked on my blog, so chances are you’re here to find out who I am, why I do what I do, or perhaps just to procrastinate wedding planning (no judgment here Queen!). Either way, I'm so happy you found me, and I'm looking forward to getting to know each other better.
Last summer, after 15 years of working in the charity sector, I decided to take a leap and add a new string to my bow: becoming a celebrant. It might sound like an unexpected plot twist, but for me, it felt like a really natural evolution and next step for me. And here's why:
I’m a professional people-connector.
My Monday - Friday work with charities helping to maximise their development and resources, goes far beyond fundraising. It’s about storytelling—bridging the gap between homeless youth and CEOs of global companies, creating connections that drive meaningful change. I’ve always LOVED bringing people together, sharing narratives, and making magic happen. And, as it turns out, weddings and ceremonies aren’t all that different—just fewer PowerPoint slides and a lot more confetti!
Making people happy is my favourite thing.
Friends, family, colleagues—they’ve all said it. I’m that person who can bring a room together, whether it’s a gala dinner, a strategy meeting, or a slightly tipsy and ever so serious Christmas pub quiz. Why not channel that energy into one of life’s most special moments?
It was time to work for the best boss ever: me.
I’ve spent years supporting brilliant founders, but I realised it was my turn to take the reins. Becoming a celebrant lets me combine my skills, passion, ethics and standards to create a work/ life balance that feels just right.
"Cat, why don't you just work for yourself already?

Why I Trained with the Academy of Modern Celebrancy (AMC)
Sure, with 15 years of public speaking and event planning, I technically didn’t need a qualification to be a celebrant. But imposter syndrome is real, my friends. Getting certified wasn’t just about ticking a box—it was about leveling up and ensuring I could deliver the very best for every couple or client I work with.
Plus, freelance life can get lonely. Having a network of fellow celebrants to swap tips, ideas, and maybe a cheeky glass of champs with? Priceless.

January is a weird time, isn’t it? We’re all shivering, broke, and slightly hungover from both mince pies and existential dread. But for some, it’s also a season of excitement and fresh beginnings—especially if you just got engaged over Christmas or New Year (congratulations, by the way!).
Instead of setting grand resolutions, I like to reflect on the wins—big and small—that have brought me to this moment.
This year, I have one clear intention: to create and perform five unforgettable ceremonies. Whether it’s a vow renewal ceremony under the London sky, a gender-affirming ceremony that celebrates someone stepping into their authentic self, a naming ceremony to welcome a new life (or new chapter), or a handfasting ceremony on a beach in Wales- I've made 5 in 2025 my intention.
As a Queer celebrant based in London (and often Birmingham), I’m passionate about creating spaces where everyone feels seen, celebrated, and loved. Whether it’s an LGBTQ+ wedding ceremony, a gender-affirming ritual, or a vow renewal, I ensure every event is inclusive, deeply personal, and full of joy.
But it doesn’t stop there. Your ceremony is a moment to involve your guests and family members in meaningful ways, honor those who couldn’t be here to celebrate with you, and I’m here to help navigate tricky family dynamics with a very mindful, very demure approach.
So, if you’re looking for an inclusive celebrant who’s part planner, part storyteller, and 100% dedicated to you, let’s chat. Whether you’re in London, Birmingham, or somewhere in between, I’d looooove to help bring your dream ceremony to life.
Here’s to a year of love, laughter, and maybe a little less imposter syndrome. Cheers!
